ESEER stands for European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. It is a formula used in the European region to measure the seasonal efficiency of air conditioners and chillers. It is the European standard of SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio).
This energy performance indicator, which is also used for refrigeration equipment, is controlled by the Eurovent Certification Company, as well as other institutions. In other countries, such as the United States, an equivalent measurement known as IEER is used.
How is ESEER calculated?
ESEER is calculated by combining the energy efficiency ratios (EER) for full and part load operation, for different seasonal air or water temperatures, and includes the appropriate weighting factors.
ESEER = (EER at 100 % load × 0.03) + (EER at 75 % load × 0.33) + (EER at 50 % load × 0.41) + (EER at 25 % load × 0.23)
What is the difference between ESEER and EER?
The main difference between ESEER and EER is that EER is a calculation that only takes the results taken during the full load operation. ESEER however, is calculated by combining full and part load operating EER ratios 25%, 50, 75%, and 100%.
