Airconditioning company Hitachi awarded as one of the ‘Top 10 Most Responsible Businesses of India’
On 6th Dec’18, in an award ceremony held atTeen Murti Bhavan, Delhi by Simply Suparnaa Media Network’s SABERA (सबेरा which means morning) -Social And Business Enterprise Responsible Awards, Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Limited was awarded as the Top 10 Most Responsible Businesses of India. Hitachi has taken many CSR initiatives at both local and national level in the last one year which covers a gamut of health, sanitation, education, skilling of rural youth, safety and empowerment of differently-abled. Col. Rajesh Ohol, General Manager, Administration and Human Resources and Ms. Roma Jamshed, Asstt. Manager, CSR Division- Administration and Human Resources who lead the CSR initiatives taken by the company, received the award on the behalf of Hitachi.
The SABERA Awards & Summit 2018 is the first edition and conceptualized by the Simply Suparnaa Media Network with the aim of building a positive narrative for the country. The Top 10 Responsible Businesses in India award is decided basis the ESG (Environment, Social and Governance related) Data. In India, MSCI (formerly Morgan Stanley Capital International) is the ESG Data Provider whose research provides ratings of the environmental, social and governance-related business practices of thousands of companies worldwide.
SABERA award categories were based on 6 out of the 17Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) laid out by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015- Environment, Education, Enablement, Health & Wellbeing, Agriculture & Rural Development and Sports. The UN Global Compact Network India is SDG Partner.
The Jury Meet which was held on 14th Nov’18, decided the benchmarks for the award based on qualitative and quantitative measures for Impact, Sustainability and Scalability. Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, widely acclaimed as the Father of CSR in India was the advisor. Benchmarks for the award were set by the jury based on qualitative and quantitative measures for Impact, Sustainability and Scalability. The Jury for the awards was led by Sanjeev Bhikchandani, Founder Naukri.com with stalwarts across industry as Jury Members and Speakers. Dr. Bibek Debroy, Chairman PM Advisory Council, also member Niti Ayog was the guest of honour at SABERA.
