Air conditioning is no longer a luxury but a need given the rising temperatures around the globe. The past few decades have seen a huge change in the temperatures which has led to an increased usage of cooling devices. ACs have become an important part of our lives and why shouldn't it when there is a visible need for them?  When something holds such importance, it is obvious that we take utmost care of it and use it in the most efficient way possible. Hence, in this blog, we'll be sharing a few tips with you so that you can use your air conditioning in the most efficient way and make the most out of it.

1. Sealing The Leaks

This is the basic and the most important thing for any space with air conditioning. Sealing the leaks will help you keep the cold air inside the space without losing it. Check your apartment or house thoroughly and see if there are any leaks and get them fixed at the earliest. This will help your air conditioner work effortlessly else it'd need a lot more energy to keep your space cool. You should check the leaks coming from the attic because that's something that can hamper your cooling the most.

2. Pre-programming

Here's something you can do if you have an air conditioner with the pre-programming feature. Most of us make the mistake of forcing the machine to work on its full capacity right after arriving at home. This isn't a good thing to do. Rather, if you have an air conditioner that has a pre-programming feature, get your AC turned on thirty minutes before you arrive. This will help it cool your room at ease without having to put a lot of effort that in turn damages the unit eventually.  By doing this, we can extend the life of our air conditioner.

3. Placing your outdoor unit strategically

Placing your outdoor AC unit at the perfect place can get half of your job done. Make sure that you place your outdoor unit in a cleaner and cooler place. By cooler, I mean a place that is away from direct sunlight. If it is placed like that, it doesn't have to exhaust itself for cooling the indoor air. Also, if there aren't any leaves or debris around it, it'll less likely catch dirt resulting in less blockage and extended efficient service. Make sure that there's ample space around your outdoor unit for better cooling.

4. Regular servicing

This is something you must have heard a lot but do you actually follow it? If not, start doing that as soon as you can. Checking the health of your air conditioner on a regular basis can improve its performance and help you get a better cooling experience. Some things you can do all by yourself like cleaning the filters, cleaning the outdoor unit etc while for some of the tasks you must call a technician. Make sure to set a reminder for getting your air conditioner serviced without procrastination. A technician will check the pipes, the coolant, the filters, etc and will fix anything if needed before it needs to be changed or reaches a point where it can't be fixed at all.

5. Doing some creativity

You must be thinking about what creativity can one do with the air conditioning. Well, you can actually do it by placing a fan near your air conditioner to cater bigger spaces. Yes that's quite possible if you want another room to get cooled by the same air conditioner. The fan will help throw the cool air further away in the desired direction helping you cool the other spaces as well. Also, you can always use other cooling devices like a water cooler, a fan, etc to increase the cooling at your space while lessening the burden off your air conditioner.

6. Allowing fresh air

Here's a wonderful and simple tip for you to keep your spaces fresh and not just cool. When you wake up in the morning, open the windows of your room and allow some fresh and cool air to come inside. This will keep your room naturally cool and will help your air conditioner perform better. You can do it at times of rainfall or low temperatures as well. We mentioned morning because of the fact that the temperature is usually low in the mornings.

There are many other tips and hacks of increasing the efficiency of your air conditioner, but the above-mentioned have proved best and most effective as per the feedback of the people who have applied these hacks at their respective spaces.
