Heat pumps are a very common source of heating in New Zealand. Heat pumps come in a range of capacities, with various features and benefits. The main benefit is that heat pumps are significantly more efficient than other forms of heating, putting out more kilowatts of heating or cooling than power consumed. This efficiency saves you power and money.

Most modern systems will achieve a COP (Coefficient of Performance) of four or more*, meaning that to get 4 kilowatts of heating they use less than 1 kilowatt of power. Other heating systems like and electric heating or gas boilers have a COP of less than 1. So for every unit of power they consume they provide no more than one unit of heating output.
Heat Pumps also cool – no other heating system does this. This technology keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
