The Caledonian Club | Hitachi chiller project in London, UK

Chiller

The place: a classic Scottish Members´Club founded in 1891 that requires cooling during summer

Located in the elegant streets of the Belgravia neighborhood, The Caledonian Club is an institution for the Scottish community of London. The clubhouse includes a large dining room, a bar with its collection of over 200 whiskies, accommodation, and a suite of beautiful functions rooms for events, meetings and weddings.

The solution: an Hitachi chiller that upgrades the spaces beyond expectations

A problematic chiller was previously installed, ineffectively cooling the Club’s function rooms and kitchens across four floors. In need of a replacement, the Hitachi Samurai air-cooled screw chiller became the obvious choice. Thanks to its new twin screw compressor and compact size, “the Samurai chiller was the only ‘off-the-shelf’ chiller that could be installed in the limited space available on the building’s rooftop” Voltix Services Ltd explained.

“Its outstanding performance and reliability have played a pivotal role in providing comfort and a cool ambience for all our visitors.”

The previous air handling units (AHU) could be retained, preserving the 100+ year-old interior late-Victorian interior. In addition, the Club’s Glengoyne Room, Card Room, Snooker Room and Library have also received the wonderful addition of air conditioning, much to the delight of the Club’s members.

“The positive feedback from our clients and members has been overwhelming, and we couldn't be happier with the results. We are genuinely thrilled with the impact it has had on our business, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to others.”
