The place: gorgeous private house overlooks the Port Phillip Bay
A luxury home in Mount Martha, Victoria, was looking to retrofit the air conditioning of the two most important rooms:
- living room with open kitchen with 3m heigh ceilings
- large master bedroom
In these two spaces where occupants spend majority of their time at home, two wall-mount split systems had been priorly installed but didn’t match the expectations of the owners.
For the new replacement, the owners had already pre-determined what key features they required, which included an essential focus on the aesthetics of the physical units suit the luxurious look and feel of the home’s interior.

The solution: Design award-winning Silent-Ionic and controllers complement the sleek interior
After much consideration, the owners chose the Hitachi 4-Way Cassette with Silent-Iconic Design Panel due to its contemporary and premium finish.
With unique esthetic value, Silent-Iconic™ fascia features streamlined 4-Way air outlets that appear as slits, minimizing their visual impact. Similarly, the panel which covers the central inlet is louvred to further integrate the unit into the overall look and feel of the space.
A black & white version of Silent-Iconic panel was installed in the living room, matching with the white open kitchen cabinets. For the master bedroom, full black Silent-Iconic option was preferred, subtly blending in with the room’s wood panel ceiling.
For users’ convenience in controlling the air conditioning, a design award-winning Advanced-Color wired remote controller was mounted on the home’s walls. The controller’s curved front panel creates an extra touch of elegance and is convenient for users when accessing the buttons. The controller also features a 4.3” screen and uses a palette of modern colors and user-friendly pictograms to offer a fresh-looking interface.
The units were combined with one multizone VRF Utopia outdoor unit, bringing great energy efficiency for both cooling and heating operation.
