Energy-Efficient HVAC Solutions: Hitachi Chillers & Heat Pumps

HVAC Solutions for Renovation Projects: Improving Energy Efficiency

In building renovation projects, the choice of HVAC solutions is critical to achieving a comfortable and energy-efficient environment. Whether it is a residential, commercial or institutional building, it is crucial to consider various options that meet the specific needs of each project.

One of the most prominent solutions are chillers and heat pumps. These devices offer versatility and control in a wide range of projects, from offices and hotels to logistics centers and retail establishments.

When considering the right HVAC solution, it is essential to evaluate key factors:

  • Energy efficiency takes center stage as building owners seek to reduce operating costs and comply with current regulations. State-of-the-art chillers and heat pumps, such as those offered by Hitachi, are designed to meet current and future energy efficiency standards.
  • Flexibility is also a crucial aspect of renovation projects. Modular chillers allow for adaptable configuration in small spaces, avoiding unnecessary expenditure on over-specification.
  • Simple installation and maintenance are key features that streamline processes and reduce long-term costs.

Renovating a building's HVAC systems can have an immediate impact on occupant comfort and energy efficiency. Whatever the type of building, modern and efficient HVAC solutions, such as Hitachi chillers and heat pumps, offer cost-effective and environmentally friendly options.

MODERN CHILLER AND HEAT PUMP TECHNOLOGY

Whether replacing an air conditioning system or installing one for the first time to improve the attractiveness of the building, the choice of equipment is a critical success factor.

Hitachi's heritage in the chiller and heat pump industries enables us to understand the needs of engineers, installers and users. As a result, our products are designed and manufactured to meet high performance standards, while being easy to install and maintain. Our technology options include heat recovery for increased energy efficiency, as well as state-of-the-art control and connectivity.

CHILLER

Hitachi's chiller portfolio offers a wide variety of choices:

These four chiller types provide versatile and efficient solutions to meet the needs of our customers, from small businesses to large industrial buildings.

Each building is unique and presents specific challenges in terms of heating and cooling system installation and performance. We recognise these difficulties and offer a wide range of cooling and heating capacities in our Samurai line of heat pumps, ranging from 11 kW to 360 kW.

Our chillers are especially suitable for large commercial and industrial buildings due to their high capacity and energy efficiency.

HEAT PUMPS

Heat pumps are used in air conditioning equipment such as fan heaters, chillers or air conditioners. Although heat pumps are often associated only with aerothermal energy, there are actually four types of heat pumps:

  • Air-to-water heat pumps use the energy from the outside air to produce hot or cold water. The hot water will be used for heating or DHW and the cold water for cooling, obtaining all services in the same installation. This is the system used for the operation of aerothermal systems such as the Yutaki range.
  • Air to air heat pumps harness the energy of the outside air to produce hot or cold air that is used to heat or cool the home. It is the technology commonly used by air conditioners.
  • Water-to-water heat pumps use the energy in the water to produce hot or cold water. The application of this would be the same as above.
  • Geothermal heat pumps

GRANTS AVAILABLE TO RENOVATE YOUR AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM

The European Union offers various financial support for the renovation of air-conditioning systems with the aim of promoting the transition to a low-carbon economy. To qualify for these incentives, applicants must submit projects that meet specific criteria set by the competent authorities. These criteria may include the use of clean technologies, significant reduction of carbon emissions, use of renewable energies and improvement of energy efficiency in air conditioning systems.

The purpose of these incentive programmes is to accelerate the transition process towards a more sustainable economy and to promote the adoption of environmentally friendly HVAC solutions throughout the region. The projects funded are expected to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality and promote energy efficiency in the HVAC sector.

This initiative aims to encourage the development and implementation of cleaner and more efficient technologies in order to move towards a more sustainable future and reduce the environmental impact of air conditioning systems.
