Chillers

Hitachi cooling and heating provides HVAC with a wide range of chillers, giving customers more flexibility to choose a central cooling solution.

Stay cool and comfortable with Hitachi's global chiller expertise

Chillers are ideal for small, medium and large commercial and industrial buildings due to their high capacity and energy efficiency. They eliminate noise and refrigerant risks near occupied spaces. Hitachi offers a diverse range of chiller systems with kW capacities from our Samurai S heat pump from 11.2kW to 254 kW with out Samurai M range as a single module. We provide both air cooled and water cooled chiller options, water cooled chillers can be provided with either R314a or R513a for a lower GWP option. In addition to our chillers, Hitachi also offers a selection of indoor fan coils from our Katana range with sizes from 1.2kW up to 16.7kW.

A wide range of Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Chillers

Hitachi's Chiller portfolio offers different types of chillers, including Air-cooled Chillers and Water-cooled chillers. The Samurai M series, moducar air-cooled chiller can connect units with a total capacity ranging from 44kW to 4,080kW, making it perfect for medium or large spaces. Hitachi's range of cooling and heating capacities is wide and can meet the needs of all customers, from small businesses to large industrial buildings. Additionally, Hitachi offers Fan Coil Units (FCUs) in both 2 and 4 pipe configurations designed to create a comfortable indoor climate.

Chillers with efficient design and precise capacity control

As the technology leader in the market, Hitachi Chillers are efficiently designed with precise capacity control. Our latest air-cooled chiller AVSY is designed with a proprietary DC Inverter Scroll Compressor with intelligent VFD control logic, enabling precise capacity matching for building loads while reducing power input. The unit features COP up to 3.0 and IPLV of up to 6.06, while select models are also reversible, providing heating with a Heating COP of up to 2.93.

Enjoy the advantages of flexible installation and maintenance of Hitachi Chiller

Due to the wide range of Chiller types and capacities available, customers can always find the right Chiller to suit their AC needs, whether they have a plant room. Additionally, they can connect the chiller system to other equipment using our unique H-LINK wiring system which reduces the total length of wiring needed by allowing point-to-point connection between any chiller or indoor unit. Those integrated into a Building Management system can connect our chillers via ModBus or BACNET protocols.

Continually higher COP and IPLV, larger capacity and lower GWP

Hitachi launched the world's first single-stage oil-free screw chiller in 1981, which had a capacity range of 22-45kw and used R22 refrigerant. This chiller was considered to be the most advanced at the time and won the JSRAE award. Since then, we have continued to develop chiller technology, focusing on higher COP and IPLV, larger capacities, and lower GWP. Hitachi's latest water-cooled screw chiller, the WVY series, uses R134a refrigerant and offers cooling capacities from 102-520RT (358kW-1,830kW) with high-efficiency cooling operation up to COP 5.79, which helps reduce electricity consumption and lower CO2 impact.

Airside Products contribute to IAQ

Our Fan Coil Units (FCUs) and Air Handling Units (AHUs) airside products can contribute to improved indoor air quality by filtering the air, providing adequate ventilation, controlling humidity and temperature, and proper maintenance.

The high performance of Hitachi's Chillers guarantees consistent comfort

Hitachi Chillers are built to perform at a high level, providing consistent and reliable cooling. For example, our Air-Cooled Modular Inverter Chillers (AVSY) can operate in ambient temperatures from -15C (or -25C for Low Ambient models) right up to 43C and include a smart defrosting mode for cold climates. Our inverter centrifugal chillers (GFG-SIT/GXG-SIT/GSG-SIT Series) enable stable operation even when using a low water inlet temperature, because the motor speed control range has been extended through improvements in oil temperature supply and recovery. By operating using low-temperature water during cold seasons, very little energy is used by the compressor thanks to the inverter motor control and a high-efficiency economizer, boosting COP up to 22.4 under partial load1.
