Water-cooled Screw Chiller Solutions

Hitachi Water-cooled Screw chillers are ideal for large buildings and industrial applications that require process cooling. Hitachi technologies include a twin-rotor screw compressor that provides high efficiency levels, and an oil management system that ensures efficient operation and longer lifespan.

Hitachi offers a wide range of water-cooled chillers ranging from 55RT to 400RT capacity. The portfolio includes screw compressors, Cooling Only and Heat Pump types, and both fixed speed and VSD (Variable Speed Drive) models. VSD models are the most efficient as they moderate the output of the system according to the required load.

Hitachi’s Water-cooled Screw WVY series are inverter-driven units which utilize advanced technology to deliver exceptional efficiency when operating at either full capacity or part-load, with IPLV up to 9.93 the system is 20-30% more efficient than traditional fixed-speed chillers, resulting in a payback period of less than two years in many cases.

Smart Capacity Control with Variable Speed Drive

Variable Speed Drive (VSD) reduces the impact on the power grid by decreasing the inrush current at startup and improves the part-load efficiency dramatically. Compared to manual step control systems, WVY series feature Smart Capacity Control, which is achieved by use of variable speed control and a slide valve of 20-50Hz frequency range to provide fully modulating control from 20% to 100% (single compressor unit) and 15% to 100% (dual compressor unit) of full-load. This enables precise capacity matching of the required load, therefore reducing energy consumption.

Hitachi water-cooled chillers allow customized control settings

Hitachi water-cooled chillers can be easily integrated with building automation and control systems, allowing building managers to customize cooling settings and ensure optimal comfort and well-being for occupants. Using H-LINK wiring, Hitachi Water-cooled chillers can be fully integrated with a Hitachi VRF system using a single centralized controller and wiring network. WVY series water-cooled chillers also have an integrated 7-inch touch screen mounted to the unit enabling direct control of the unit from within the plant room.
